Summer build BMP big bore

Went with the Bikeman big bore kit. The pistons are definitely nice looking. i am going to be really testing this motor next year for power and reliability as I plan to put a lot of miles on it. Already got it together and started. It feels faster reving from the lighter parts and more responsive from the little bit I reeved it up.

I actually just bought a big bore cylinder they already had on the shelf. I'm keeping mine to try doing some wild stuff over the next year. I didn't do anything with the bottom end just from how good the top end looked and speced when I took it apart. I did new wrist bearings tho.
 
Tom don't you think its wise to have the crank rebuilt? that's a lot of miles for more stress from the big bore. You have the rest of the summer,pull the motor split the cases and have it redone..and while your at it have the upper case have relieved at the same time. Its going to hit,then bye bye motor and riding time.IMO
 
I'm not to worried about it no. probably do that next year after I take it apart to spec it out after a season. If the inside didn't look so good and the top end with minimal wear I would be more worried and yes would have rebuilt everything. I'm not worried about it hitting. It's already been running and hoping to break it in on the dyno soon. 3 other axys sleds to ride this winter so no downtime for me lol

What area do you need to relieve on he upper case? (I'm thinking rod clearance or skirt) What about power valves, do those need modifications?

If pistons are big enough size they will smack the bottom top case. Ya I had to get my powervalves cut to match piston size
 
Should be pretty interesting to see how it holds up. I'm not a big fan of the cylinder spacers or BMP so that would be my biggest concerns.

I'm not a fan of spacer either but it does help correct intake(more hp)

The total pistons weight of this bb is less than Polaris stock pistons which is a good thing. I'm interested to see how it holds up as well .
