So my 15' Rush 600 has been fantastic for the past 5k miles. All trail riding and I do hammer on it but no prolonged wot on lakes or anything. Riding for an hour or so on thursday, come to a stop and the engine stalls. Hmm, hit the starter and get the dreaded clunk. Pull the cord and she's stuck so I grab the clutch and move it back and forth and it frees up and spins free. Ride it a 1/4 mile to the restaurant and load it up. Cold compression still 115 on both but I see scuffed piston on the clutch side through the power valve slot so I tore it down. I cannot find anything that came apart, got hot, went through it or anything. I'm just looking for input on what happened so it doesn't happen on the new top end. Injectors are out for testing and cleaning .

Is the end of the power valve gouged up looks like it was rubbing on piston in first picture?

No, not a mark on it and I checked with the cylinder off and it does not protrude, nut is still tight .

I have the same on mine but it was on the mag side. I have a 2013 600 indy. I was told it's probably the engine wiring harness. It will work and test good but will fail at times putting it in a lean mode and not letting the injector spit fuel.
