550 shift in tank gas hose

on a 09 550 carbed shift what material is the in tank pickup hose? is it a bendable rubber hose, or is it hard nylon that can kink. when I have it serviced they hook it and pull it through the cap opening to check the screen. it don't look like the clear hose they used years ago that would get brittle and break off. thank you for any help.
