I have a 98 XC 700 that has sat in a shed for over 8 years. The last it was ridden, the water pump belt split. I have plenty of auto tech experience, however, new to specifics on sleds. Once apart to replace the belt, I noticed the water pump couldn't be spun easily by hand. I freed it up with a little screw driver in the oil injection pump tooth slot. It can now be spun easily by hand, however still feels dry (slightly catches every rotation or so). My question is whether it is normal for the bearings on the impeller shaft to set up a little after a long term storage? As I said before, these engines are new to me.
