Titan issues

My 2019 Titan Adventure is in the dealership for electrical issues (sensor fault P0128, posted here on the forums). I accidentally discovered this thread about track noise while searching for Titan Adventure fault codes. Since I am new to snowmobiles, when i first took the sled out, I figured the loud drone was just how a big sled sounded. Since other Titan owners are complaining about the same issue, and even worse, finding out that there are bent or broken drives being reported, I asked the mechanic to see if he noticed any loud drone in the track when he test drove it. He test drove it and came back and reported to me he noticed a loud drone and a vibration, but blamed it on the low snow bogeys that were just installed. I have never ridden the machine with low snow bogeys, the noise was there before they were installed by the dealer. Today I find out that for 2021, Polaris has changed the track and drive shaft for the Titan. I am concerned that I have purchased a defective wide track design.

I will be opening an Owners Connection Case with Polaris about the track noise and vibration on my 2019 Titan Adventure. Others have done the same. If you still have warranty, and have this issue, file a complaint.

Hello I have a 2018 titan and was having the drone and vibration. Today I solved the issue on my titan. I suspended my sled 4 ft off the ground. Removed the belt and spun the track and examined the track system. I found that the driver that goes threw the track window was not entering the window smoothly. It was colliding with the track clip causing major noise and vibration. So I took my 90 degree die grinder with a grinding disc and reshaped the driver. until it engaged the track smoothly. After getting them all reshaped. I took it for a ride and I would say 98 percent of the noise and vibration was gone. I know that wide track make some noise, but now the noise is what I believe it should sound like. I also am running my track looser then polaris specs.

Good job on trouble shooting the vibration issue with the Titan Stan. I was looking closely at my front drive today. Polaris changed it last year in an attempt to correct the vibration issue and to answer Mack's question if it helped, the answer is no. So I put 2000 miles on this new front drive this winter. It is obvious where the vibration is coming from. I will try to attach a couple pics after this post to show what I found. Basically the drive side of the external driver is grinding against the drive side of the track window. This friction is causing the vibration and probably a lot of track noise.

For the record I also have a claim open for vibration on my 2019 Titan XC.
I have low snow kit installed.
A loose track helped the most to reduce vibrations but as been said earlier from about 25 to 50km/h the vibration and drone are so bad I almost need earplugs.

See what Polaris comes back with in next few months.

I talked to the Polaris Snow Division Tech today, and I asked to him to open an Owners Connection file on the loud track and vibration problem on the 2019 Titan Adventure I own. He said he would, but was very doubtful of Polaris doing anything about it. He likened it to buying a 2019 car, then going to the dealer, and asking for the new options on the 2021 car put on the 2019. He dismissed it as an overly expensive fix. If it turns out to be a safety issue, a recall is a recall, no matter if its a car or snowmobile.

Response from Owner connections with respect to my claim for vibration.

Thanks for taking the time to speak with me today. To recap what we discussed over the phone today, it appears that our tech service team has deemed the exhibited characteristics to be intended design. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

They answered nothing.
Polaris technical service team did not test ride the machine.
They said the vibration is within intended design.
They could not answer what idiot would design a snowmobile with a vibration so bad it numbs your hands.
And have provided no answer or solution on how to alleviate the problem.

I guess the answer will be dump all Polaris products.

I am also I Polaris Titan owner with an unbearable track noise. I currently have a case open with Polaris and it is absolutely going nowhere. It has to be something that we can do about this. If anybody has some thoughts or some advice that would be great and thank you for allowing me into your group

Also has more than one person modified their drivers to fit the track Windows properly with success thanks again

Hey Stan, that is great news as my Titan is everything I want except for the vibration/noise. Waiting on the pic’s and if it doesn’t work send me a pm so we can try to work out a way of seeing them.
Mike
So did you end up modifying your drivers and how did it work thank you

The sad part is my dealer asked Polaris if they could update my sled to 2021 parts and if it worked and eliminated the vibration then Polaris pay for parts and labour. If not then we would work it out. Polaris said no as the sled is within design spec.

So I am going to wait for snow and then load my 2 sleds up and go to dealer for a test ride and see what mechanics think of vibrations when they trial it.

This is exactly what David at customer service told me he said and I quote we will update you're snowmobile with the 2021 parts whatever it takes to fix your machine we will do for you" now that being said once they realized stop the track was different that the drivers were different that the gearbox is completely different it was a different story and now everything is built to manufacturer specification and it is an allowable noise Polaris sucks

And what Polaris dealer will take them on trade for fair value knowing issue.

I will most likely install a Ripsaw track and all new bearings. At some point.

I am hopefully picking up my machine from the dealer today I'm considering modifying the drivers I'm not exactly sure what my next step is going to be but it will definitely not be buying another Polaris

2019 and 2021 track drives for the Titan Adventures. Big difference. Gearbox's have the same part number according to this parts catalogue. I'm looking for the 2021 track part number to compare to 2019's Screenshot_2021-01-19 OEM Parts Polaris Parts Online La Crête, AB (780) 928-3932(3).png Screenshot_2021-01-19 OEM Parts Polaris Parts Online La Crête, AB (780) 928-3932(1).png Screenshot_2021-01-19 OEM Parts Polaris Parts Online La Crête, AB (780) 928-3932(6).png Screenshot_2021-01-19 OEM Parts Polaris Parts Online La Crête, AB (780) 928-3932(5).png

  • 2018-2020 Titan tracks are the same. 2021 is new, and only offered in 1.5 and 1.8 inch. Also, the track is listed as Cobra Ported.
