2018 800 xcr rush. 2800 miles. Always ran great now falls flat on its face on grades right around 7100 rpms. Kinda like a bog. Is there a fuel filter on these that may need replacing or could it possibly be exhaust valves not opening?

I recall reading about cleaning the exhaust valve on my Rush. I have not done that but wondering if you should check that. I think it called this out in the owners manual, give it a check. I’m sure there is a simple fuel filter but not sure where it’s located.

I have the same symptom with my XCR 800 2018. Always shifting at 8200 +- 100 rpm. Now only 7300. It happened mid-riding. No fault codes. It runs strong on half throttle as before. At the same time I got an oil leak around the primary clutch. I suspect the crank seal behind the clutch. The oil is clear, i. e. not coming from the exhaust.

Did you find a solution to this issue yet? My 600 Rush is doing the same thing now. I'm gonna clean the exhaust valves and see if that solves it. I have 3,700 miles on it and have not cleaned them yet so I'm thinking that's the issue.

I cleaned my exhaust valves and my top end performance is back to normal on our 600 Rush.

check your exhaust valve cable to see if has broken. This is common and it will not always set off a code.
