I removed my exhaust valves for cleaning and one stays in the assembly and the other one falls out. Seems like its not connected to the cable. Is it broken? If it is how is it connected to the cable? Will I need to have the valves relearned?

Interested in this process. Unsure exactly how you clean these. Hope to learn from guys on this forum.

The exhaust valve is a two piece unit. Part of it is bolted to a bar connecting the valves together. The cable pulls on the bar. The other part of the valve is held in with springs.

One is probably just gunned up more then the other I have had that happen many times. There should be no cables it pressurized/ spring activated. Yamaha and cats use a cable.

800 engine is cable operated. 600 engine is pressure operated.

Founds this little summary thought it might be good to share...

Found a different video that shows the bellows too.

I have the same thing. I think it came unbolted from the bar that connects the 2 inside the housing that the cable pulls on. I'll rip it back apart tonight and update.

So I found the problem with mine. The bolt that bolts the valve to the arm inside the housing was broke off inside the valve. EZ-out the broken bolt, new bolt back in and put it all back together. I haven't had a chance to test ride it as there's no snow at the house. Update again after the weekend. Hopefully that was the only problem.
