2017 pipes

Hello. is a fuel controller needed for the 17 when adding a pipe? it will be a bmp pipe. thanks guys.
Yes a fuel controller is recommended on the 2017 models while running the bikeman pipe. The Bullydog is the best option for it because it's a complete ECU reflash and fixes all the background items that are questionable in the stock tune.

I talked to Jim from dynotech. he said the 17 are richer on the top end and fuel was not needed when they tested pipes out.

Best way to find that out is a wideband 02 with a afr gauge mounted on sled .

Every injected two stroke should have this in my opinion as factory maps have lean spots in all manufacturers models because of EPA and they wanna give you great fuel mileage. So it's lean down low were most % of riding is done. (0-40% throttle,0-6000 rpm)

I believe when Jim tested they were still in breakin mode which was adding extra fuel. I have the ability to look at the entire mapping and do not believe it has enough fuel to sustain peak power.

Agreeing with Joey on recommending the Bully Dog with BMP tune (bias aside) but I do know of some customers running their '16 sleds with a BMP pipe and no tune. We just do not recommend it as you are on the lean side and there is not much room for forgiveness in the factory tune and a pipe on the '16-Up sleds.
