I currently changed gears to 20-42 team gears and they seem to whine with stock chain. Tried a different combo to 21-41 Polaris gears with still a whine. There is some dog leg in these combos. I thought possibly a bearing gone, so I switched back to original gears I had in 22-41 with hardly any dog leg. No noise. Anyone else have the problem with noise while changing gearing combos?

the 20/42 is a 2.10 ratio with 3/4" side slop
the 21/41 is a that's not even in the gearing chart but is a 1.95
the 22/41 is a 1.86 ratio with 1/2" side slop

looks like you had a ton of slop with what you tried to me?/
what gear ratio do you want for the axys??

It's an Indy 600. I was told by northstar Rick to start with 20-42 with his clutching for 660'

Ahh ok. That makes sense .
I thought you were talking about an axys chain case center to center.

Did you also change to the IQR tensioner? That also causes some whine over the oem vespel one.

No still stock tensioner
