I have a 2008 dragon 800 with about 4,500 miles. Engine blew up after a rebuild 1,000 miles or so ago. Everyone tells me I was lucky to get 1,000 miles out of a rebuild and that the 700 engine is bullet proof. I have two older 700's and they are very reliable.
My question is what would happen if I were to take the engine out, remove everything (throttle body, exhaust, starter, clutch..) and bolt it on to a 700 block and reinstall that engine?
Has anyone done this? Most of the part numbers are identical, some are a bit different and seem to be specific to 600/700/800 engine size.
Thanks for any advice, Charles
