    Exhaust Valve Cleanup

    4300 miles on 2015 800 rush,using ves oil,never cleaned the valves , pulls 8100-8200 every time .

    Primary Clutch ``blueprinting``

manual calls for .001 to .002 clearance between buttons and tower.I have .006 on mine and the clutch rattles,if I temperlaraly stick a .006 shim between the button and tower the rattling stops.I would go .002,you only shim the button on the trailing side.there is pressure on only 3 of the 6...

Not sure if these pipes will fit in the centurion chassis, but you have to have the pipes made exactually for this engine, unless someone knows 580 xlt pipes will work on a 500 centurion.I read somewhere there is some small trick to get these engines to run really well, but I cant remember what it...

    Testing TPS with multimeter?

I think the above post about getting new throttle bodies is the answer, but Polaris isn't going to give everybody new throttle bodies because their rpms are low.Mine pulled 8200 all year, after putting in a blue 120-300 drive clutch spring, but was it making full h.p. at 4.39 w.o.t...

    Testing TPS with multimeter?

2015 800 axys should have a base idle of .700 and idle voltage of .913,or set the idle voltage according to RPMS, 1700 rpms.If you set a 2015 at 2016 specs [.940] its going to idle to fast .They apparently changed something to be able to use this higher idle voltage.Only base voltage changes W.O...

I always ran stock clutching and gearing, never any bog.Make sure your clutches are not worn, belt not worn, and not too much belt deflection.

Make sure you stay within 200 rpms of the powerban,if running on ice drag strip, make sure you have sharp studs made for ice racing and not for trail riding.Use as many as you need to keep from spinning too much.if your going to race in a stock class you cant change too much, you will have to find...

Very fast sled in its day,no sled beat mine from 1980 to 1986,when the 600 indy triple came out.Very lite sled for the 80 h.p. triple.VERY high strung engine, very narrow h.p. curve. They would stick a piston if you tried to go 80 m.p.h. in 4 to 6 inches of snow. After a few thousand miles it was...

    reaches temperature and stalls

engine automatically shuts off if you leave it idle to long, with out touching the throttle

    How hot is to hot

170 degrees is still ok .Hot light comes on at 185 degrees starts blinking at 201 at W.O.T. Temp can be a little higher if only at half throttle.Real high temps engine will automatically shut down.

    Clutch float

the reason shims are different thicknesses on different sleds is because the factory cannot get the offset between the engine and jackshaft bearing the same from sled to sled , thus different thickness shims need to be used to get clutches aligned,so each sled has to use the right thickness...
