I actually live in CT, but have a house in islandpond, vt. I would definitely do that, don't mind driving, wherever is good for everyone is good with me.
Sounds awesome, I'm going to try the 10-72 first and then if that's good I'm going to mod my stock 66 weights like doc did. I haven't been to Jackman lately, Ive been going to my place in Vermont and also driving to pittsburg NH. I find the riding and grooming much better there. You should...
That's awesome! I'm definitely going to order a tied and helix now. I'm going to run the same primary and secondary setup that you used to use this weekend (except with the 140/220 spring because I forgot to order the 140/200) and smoke my buddies new axys haha. Then hopefully the tied will be...
My 16 clutch must be shimmed a little on the high side because the gates belt fits good, when new it had almost no side clearance but now has about 10 thou broken in. Do you think I'll use the 72's or 70's? Elevation is 0-2500ft
That's great advice, I think he said he's running 10-72 weights. I installed my gearing (1.74) and just have to install my 120/310, 155/222 or 140/220 haven't decided yet and 50/44F helix. I have 10-70 and 10-72 weights, ill probably try the 10-72 first. I do want to order the ssi pro mags...
You want to set your deflection properly by adjusting the belt so that your track barleys creeps at idle when on a stand. Or you can just try to go by the Polaris recommendation of 1 1/4 inches of deflection. The gates belt is wider so you'll need to turn in your deflection adjuster from the...
Definitely agree Brock. I usually take it easy for the first 50 miles. With gradual increase of the throttle so that the belt breaks in over the full travel of the clutches.
Up in Vermont/New Hampshire for the weekend and ordered a gates belt to try. Washed the belt, installed, and set deflection. Now...time for the meat and potatoes. This belt ROCKS! Tightened up my belt to shelve to about 0.010. Engages much smoother, wack the throttle and it immediately jumps to...
My personal opinion on these Polaris sleds is that the more float the better. I would run one .080 shim or one .120 behind the secondary, I say either of them just because whichever one you have access to is fine. And then enough washers on the bolt to have a total of .200-.250 float. You can...
