I have not measured the durometer of the belts but they are surely softer you can tell just with your hands. I have my two belts now I plan to test around for the time being. I am hopeful to have the softer belt dialed in over the weekend. Off to Qc for three days.
I plan to use the Gboost and have a helix coming to test with it. Unfortunately the Gboost and Ultimax are too grippy for me and the stock helix. With the 58/44 the Assault comes with even with significantly stiffer springs I cannot make it rev quick enough. So I have a custom cut helix...
Guys feel free to jump in here I’m just going to ramble about what I’m coming up with. I think for me I simply cannot achieve what I want in clutching running a sticky belt (gboost or ultimax) without tuning the helix. The stock belt until 1k ish miles was working great too. I was pretty...
Not a huge ride today. Took my little guy for a run back into the provincial park by us. He got on just under 90 miles. Not too bad for 8. The afternoon we spent carving a couple back roads. I’m teaching him how to lay his Indy EVO over and carve lines.
While doing so I am spending a lot more...
You wouldn't ruffle any of my feathers. My assault routinely runs 115 mph indicated on the display. My assault is considerably faster than the other 3 I have been with using my clutching. When it was bone stock I was side by side with the other ones. With my changes its clearly much faster...
I’ve experienced the fuel type changing on its own. The map getting stuck in an endless scroll. Sometimes going from forward to reverse makes the fuel gauge reset and read 100% until I reboot it.
I’m calling it guys. I don’t know for the mo eh if you could do much more with a full clutch kit.
Gboost belt
Dalton white secondary
2 delrin washers
Stock everything else this setup just rocks. Now with the washers it’s so consistent. Absolutely love the way it works, shifts, and how fast...
I installed the Delrin washers in my secondary this morning to test. Hopefully they don’t make the helix act steeper. We’ll see!
I’m hoping to get a couple passes on my TD GPS today.
Got to put a measly 120 miles on today. Really cold here. Probably going to tune around this belt as I really like the way it works.
all stock except for Dalton white secondary dart spring and Gboost belt.
I am going to have to do a little clutching the belt is super sticky so it drags the...
I ordered myself a Speedwerx H5 155/300 Primary spring which I intend to do the remainder of my tuning around this season.
So far my best all around performing / consistent performance setup is;
Stock primary
Gboost Belt - DBPO1177
Stock secondary with Dalton white spring.
This has been the...
I'm heading north in about an hour to do some riding tomorrow. We are hoping to put a few hundred km on and test this new belt / clutching combo for a bit. I am hoping to have a bit of tested technical data to provide the group.
On another note I have installed a Tricked Toys offset axle and...
I ended up getting the VR1 riser and prefer it to the higher assault one.
I feel like I've let down the board a bit with the pandemic, and low snow in our area I haven't got a ton of riding in. Only 1350 miles on my sled so far this season. I am hoping to get to 1800 this weekend but we'll...
I wasn’t aware the Polaris belts just gave up like that. Literally like a light switch. I thought my power valves were screwed up or engine was dying! It just killed performance. Glad it was just a quick swap and performance was back. Your spot on my clutches were just black from it. Lots...
I’ve kind of hit a wall and plan to move in a different direction. Friday I couldn’t make my belt stop slipping. Rpm down 700 rpm sled felt like a turd. Ended up pulling all my clutching to inspect the clutches. Cleaned them as well as the faces and went back out. Rpm was barely 8100, and...
1800 km as of today:
Ran with 3 Assaukts today and 1 850 Etec. My sled with clutching is top dog. Ran with the 850 Etec out front all day. Same liters at the pump each time! Got home after 224 miles Etec was almost empty on oil (full before we left) my Poo was 1/2” above the add line...
