Spending some more time on my assault I am honestly shocked at something that I didn’t think was a big deal until now. The balance point on the sled is so perfect on the Polaris in that you are literally on the balance point of the sled. All the G4’s I’ve owned are front weight bias and this...
I have the Dalton weights QAP 4’s with loaded to 74g in the tips and a 3/8” screw in the heels. Factory belt 1.5” track. I am finally seeing 8100/8150 every time I smash on it. Sometimes down low 8200 if it spins. Response is insane I LOVE how quick and hard this sled revs. Putting around 6...
I finished off my wrap this morning just in time for Xmas break. I honestly cannot say enough good things about ArcticFX they were not my first choice I was trying to deal with a Canadian company and after numberous attempts I gave up. Started playing with their sled wrapper online and when...
Glad I ordered the QAP 4’s I was between the 4’s and 5’s when I was ordering.
mom going to start with the 4’s and a Dalton green and see what I can do. Then I want to move into lower engagement and belt shimming for a smooth takeoff. Anyone who’s owned an 850 Doo knows how easily they crawl...

I agree the technology probably plays a roll but I do remember the SDI motors Doo built to work pretty darn well for consumption. I don't have numbers yet because I am just pumping from our tank with no meter on it. I know I filled my tank as full as possible and burped it, ran back in the...
Yes it would be nice to know the difference. That sort of science is over my head to find out such information though.
I am always interested in running the stickier belts myself I find they feel much more connected to ones thumb.
Well gentlemen I have a theory here. I have been told but have not yet experienced the patriot 850’s consumption is higher than a Doo 850. This would make sense to me from what I am noticing the Polaris 850 turns about 1000 rpm more than my Doo 850’s for the given speed I generally travel...
So I was seeing 8400/8500 today around the 70 mile Mark every squeeze. Temps are around 0*C
stopped and swapped my Gboost belt on and took it easy 15 miles. Then got on it. 7900/8000 every squeeze. Sled feel much faster and more powerful vs buzzy and not going anywhere.
So I’ll touch on a few things I am noticing right off the bat. The engine according to most who have posted regarding 850’s is over revving a lot. I’m at 8200/8250 at wot. I started out seeing 8000/8100 now it’s up. By all accounts I need my peak rom to be closer to 7900/8000. So it looks...
I do next to zero racing except against myself anymore lol. Still I love the challenge that comes with building some better clutching than OEM. I have been doing testing for an aftermarket guy for many seasons now and always learn new stuff every year. I am looking forward to playing with...
You’re welcome, I am going to play with Dalton weights in mine this season and see if I can make gains. I have a really nice GPS data logger that I use for all my testing.
