Not a gurantee, but a Gates belt would probably get that clearance donw below .010. Maybe even below .005

Feeler gauge. Belt has to be pushed against either sheave of the primary. I like to check them with the primary on the bench. Wrap the belt around, and tighten it with a tie wrap to make the belt as small as possible in the clutch.then measure

If the sled is stock no. Run the best non ethanol fuel you can get. 91 octane non ethanol will be fine. That sled may have had the timing advance on the key. If it does, Run it in the lower performance key setting if you want a little safety edge. Is it a 01 or the 01,5 that was a late...
