Follow the speedo cable form the hood down to the clutch side. It should be screwed into a cup. Take the cup off and see if the speedo key is broke. As far as the shocks. Probably shot and needs a new one. If it has a steel body it’s not rebuildable.

First thing you need to do on any sled that would be studded is to check to be sure you have tunnel protection.
