The Vespel tensioner is quiet but you have to really stay on top of chain tension. The roller has a whining noise but like Brock says is way more efficient.
Not yet but I do have a set that I will be installing on my Assault. The whole hyfax isn't made of Vespel as that would be incredibly expensive. There are little notches cut in the hyfax and the Vespel is in little pieces put in the hyfax at around 45 degrees.
I know the guy who invented the Vespel sliders. Met him totally by accident at Beausejour at the oval races. Anyways they are good for 1200 degrees before they start to melt is what he told me.
Good idea. I do almost the same thing but raise the front of the sled so that oil doesn't run out of the exhaust. Fire it up til it starts smoking. Shut it off and see ya next winter. I just may try this method after next season. Thanks Dave. Div20

You'll find that a Ripsaw will have the back end of your sled either to the left or right when the brakes are locked up which is not very safe. However the Cobra tracks straight when the brakes are locked up. The Cobra is great for off trail but probably not as fast as the Ripsaw. Decisions...
