What sled are you working on? The one in your avatar?

    Dura Flex Scratchers

Ed, I don't have an answer as to how to keep it from happening, but mine will occasionally pop back up on their own when deployed down. As far as keeping them up when you want them up, I use zip ties to secure them, and a side cutters on board to cut the ties when you want to drop them down.

    Front Bumper

Looks great. I think it's the same bumper as the one on the Adventure.

    What sled is this on?

    Aftermarket Shocks

I've been a one up rider forever. I really enjoy dicing it up with the guys, and at other times taking the wife out on her own sled. It's getting harder to convince her to get out and ride when she rides her own sled. So along comes the Adventure in the AXYS chassis. This sled really is the best...

    Exhaust Valve Cleanup

Yup, that stuff cleans great. It stinks to high heaven, but stuff comes out looking like new.

    Aftermarket Shocks

I agree on proper set up. With only 340 miles on my Adventure, due to our crappy winter, I'm still not done dialing in my shock settings. But so far, I'm impressed with the 3 position QS3's. I may have to revalve the rear track shock slightly stiffer, my sweet spot on that one is on high. I...

Rush 600 running on one cylider

Yes we have! I did a complete overhaul for a buddy on an XC 600 (obviously carbed). He insisted on helping, so you can see where this is going. Long story short, I got it all assembled and installed in the sled. The fuel pump hose routing was a nightmare. I normally take pictures, notes, tag...

Rush 600 running on one cylider

There is a vacuum leak on the PTO side. Possibly where the case halves meet or the PTO crank seal is leaking. I assume the PTO crank seal was replaced during the overhaul, but still check it. Try spraying starting fluid or carb cleaner around that area at idle and see if rpms pick up.

    Aftermarket Shocks

I'm really liking the Fox QS3 shocks on my 2016 Switchback Adventure. Just a thought.

Engine Light and Oil Light On

How many miles was your last ride? If the level didn't go down much at all, that would be a major concern to me.

    Indy 600 gauge upgrade

Yup, looks like our season is toast! That's the problem I have. When we have a shitty season (like the last two), I accessorize if I can't ride. I don't know which is more expensive.Dunno:D

    Team clutch wear

Common yes, but not normal. The bolt that sets belt deflection is ripping the groove in the sheave. I would put a steel washer in between the sheaves and let the bolt contact that, not the soft aluminum. The next time I have a secondary apart, I'll check for possible fixes. How many miles are on...

Looks great Dave. Glad it worked out for you. How do you like the position of the gauge?

Good find on the front springs. How the heck did poo miss that one?

Setup For My First Sled - 16' 800 Rush LTD

While they have the sled (again), have them check the y-pipe for flatness. I've seen them warped going way back to the XC days. Easy to drag the manifold across sandpaper starting with course sandpaper and finish up with fine. The manifold to head surface seals up better and stays sealed longer...

    Indy 600 clutching

I read somewhere that the AXYS 600 peak rpm is up 200- 300 rpm from the Pro-R 600. Take this with a grain of salt, but my 2016 600 Switchback owners manual says operating rpm is 8250, + or - 200 rpm. In the same manual the 800 is the identical, 8250 + or - 200rpm. On my '16 600 Switchback...

Offset idler wheels on Pro-S Switchbacks - leave as is?

This has been brought up before. The reason they are offset is the cancel out harmonic vibrations, at least that is what Polaris is claiming. So they are supposed to be like that. Some guys have remounted the idlers so they line up side to side with no noticeable increase in high speed...
