Good times. Exept they all probably smelled like raw gas and oil. But for most of the people in here, that's probably a plus!

Long winded rant incomming! Start with the preload recomendations in your manual. Start on the lower end of the recomendations, then measure sag. A good general starting point for most setups is 1/3 (33%) of your total travel taken up as sag. Warning about friction: Friction can mess with...

One person's agressive trail is not another's... Depends on the trail and where the person likes to get his jollies. Brock's aggressive trail sounds like fast corners, controlled but hard accereration even if it sacrifices some "big bump performance." This is aggressive trail If you have more...

So many people tore the oil injection off the early Yamaha sleds, you could probably say yamaha didn't have injection till then either!

Well then, it should be allot easier to get the oil ratio correct! I'm 41 going on 21, sometimes 12. My early memories are yamaha and ski doo related. I assumed a higher end polaris would have oil injection in that era. I be wrong. When did polaris start getting injection?

1980 Centurion Bog at higher RPMs

Great news! After you run it for a few miles, take a look at your spark plugs as an extra check to make sure it's not too lean/rich and all three cylinders are running well. Take pictures and post them here if you want. Also, if you can, check your oil ratio. Fill the oil tank, fill the gas...

    Voltage Regulator Issues

Check, double and triple check your wiring and grounds. Then check again. It's possible that your new regulator is bad. But it's also possible that your wiring is bad, and it's also possible that your stator is bad. If the lights don't work when you get your new regulator, your going to have...

I agree with Doc too. I just don't agree with the general statement that the 155/222 is too stiff. And that "stiff" springs are bad, without some quantification. Yes. Too stiff is bad. Too soft is bad too. There is a range though. Coming from a newbie perspective, declarative statements...

Don't underestimate the importance of gearing lower. On this site, read all that Brock has to say on the topic. The theory behind why is sound and in field testing by him and others is positive. "North Star Rick" on Hard Core Sledder and others too. Plus. Lower gearing will help as conditions...
