    Studding a SB 800

I agree. Using single ply studs also provides less chance of a pull out or track damage.

    Studding a SB 800

I feel the cobra hooks better then the Rip2 on loose snow and the same as the Rip2 on hardpack.... cannot speak to top end tho.

    Which would you do? Opinions?

I agree. I'm just saying that both the tied and p2 are a huge improvement over the lightweight... For people not wanting to get involved with the P2, the tied is a great alternative.

    Which would you do? Opinions?

I ran the tied 71/55 on my 160 hp 797 twin last season....with great results in 660' on snow.... but that was with a 146 cobra. I will back off a few degrees for the new Axys and start from there. Will have a brand new TS-004 for sale as soon as the '16 arrives if anyone is interested.

    Which would you do? Opinions?

I disagree. I ran the tied on my last 2 trail sleds.... awesome back shift with better midrange shift out. Won alot of 660' snow drags with the Tied as well

    Studding a SB 800

I agree.... 1.62 power points for me on my cobra. 1.325" studs are useless on the 1.325" or 1.250" rip 2. IMPO

    Clutching and gearing

Seems like you could run the stock 68 pitch chain with the bigger 23/40 gears. Has anyone tried this? Or is everyone spending the $$ and getting the 70 pitch chain?
