    team tied helix

I tried a 62/54F this weekend with the stock TSS 04 blue/black stripe spring on my X with stock gearing this weekend. Was also using a 120-310 primary spring with uncut 10-72 weights. Seemed to pull good, but didn't have a mule to test against. Pulls 8200 from a launch with this setup. Heat...

    TEAM TIED TEST

I tried the Tied with stock primary, a 62-54? full progressive helix , and a 140-240 spring. The sled felt fast, but the clutches were both much warmer than with the stock setup. Can't remember the exact angles of the helix. It seems like running less angle and more spring than you, Doc...

    Gates belt review.

I tried to install the Gates in my '16 Pro-X SB, and its a no-go without shimming the spider. Length is the same as the 1177, but it's a good .050" wider. It will not roll around the base of the primary with the stock shims under the spider. I may try to use it later, but for now I have 2 Poo...

    Clutching and gearing

I've been using a 120-310 primary spring with 10-72 weights, with less than .010" sheeve clearance, and stock secondary , poo belt. In below 20degree F temps, sled pulls 8250 rpm, and shows 106 mph on the recall. Not too bad for rolling that 1.75" track.

    Clutch Talk

It did have a light film of oil on the crank, and it looked like the clutch had rotated on the crank, as you could see rings around the stub. Wiped off clean with no galling of either the stub or clutch hub. I have only started and drove the sled enough to get it off the truck and into the...

    Clutch Talk

Every Polaris that I've had needed shims removed, until this one. I have less than .010" clearance with the 1177 belt, and can't get the Gates to the bottom of the clutch. I did not measure the shim stack, but I'm thinking there were 2 .050's, a .032 and a .020 for a total of .152", if Polaris...

    Clutch Talk

Took the primary off my '16 Pro-X last night. The clutch bolt was in there very tight, more than the 80 ft/lbs that you usually see. While threading in the puller, the clutch almost fell off the crank stub. Didn't need any pressure to remove the clutch. Never saw that before! Also, you...

Team Tied setups for fast trail riding

Well, that's why I came here asking. I will definitely start with a spring you recommend, Doc. Do you have an idea of what spring to use in the Tied? Trying to go off memory, but I think it has a red/black 140-240. The Pro-S had a very good backshift with the spring and helix combo in there.

Team Tied setups for fast trail riding

Ok, thanks, Doc. I was hoping you would respond! I was thinking of trying a set of SLP MTX 71g weights with either a 140-330 ( Team green) or a 120-340 (Team bright yellow) primary spring.

Team Tied setups for fast trail riding

Curious to see what the gurus think will be a good setup for fast trail riding for the Axys would be. I had purchased a Tied clutch from Indy Dan for my 2012 Pro-R SB 800, and it worked pretty good, but the etec still could win a drag race if over 1000ft. I don't know what helix is in the...

    Aftermarket Skis

I ran Polaris Gripper skis on my Pro-S SB last year and really liked them. Will throw them on the Pro-X SB this year. You can go to the Snowest classifieds and find them pretty reasonably priced sometimes.

    Are bulkhead halves bonded?

Ok thank you! The side supports have been bonded, so it looks like it was done right. I just don't remember seeing the air gap between the halves last year. It's not huge, but it seems like its big enough to let snow in when playing in powder. Maybe a little RTV will help.

    Who has lined them up?

No mods whatsoever. Not even studs. Was on hardpack, freshly groomed trail, air temps were between -10 to -5 F. He was unstudded as well.

    Who has lined them up?

Lined up my bone stock Pro-S SB against a 13 Rene X. Had a nice looong straitaway, raced for almost a mile. I jumped him out of the hole, he never was able to reel me in. Speedo read 113 mph I think.

    Are bulkhead halves bonded?

Had some repair work done on my '15 Pro-S SB. Dealership replaced the RH bulkhead half, but looks like they never glued it to the left half. A gap between the halves can easily be seen with a light shining from underneath. Aren't these supposed to be bonded together?

    Who ordered a 2016?

800 Pro -X SB ordered. Had a '15 Pro-S 800 SB that ran great for 2500 miles. Really liking this site so far!
