We've done a lot with that secondary on the 600's. We are one of the only companies that offers anything for the P2. Everyone else forces you to jump ship and purchase a Tied secondary with their clutch kit for over $600
Around here, they are enforcing the crap out of it. Keep factory can on it!!
The exhaust is the reason to pull you over and give you the DUI to go with it.
I'm sure it has the reverse notch, but the twin trax helix does not have as deep of a reverse notch as the single track helix. They wanted to keep more mass in between the other set of ramps for support.
If you have the sled turning a lot of rpm when going into reverse, it'll jump the notch...
We've seen this happen many times with regulator problems and stator. Regulator is the most common. It goes into a safe mode and won't let the sled rpm where it is supposed to.
Glad to hear your mopping up with that set up!!
With that gearing you should be able to get away with 65 grams. Otherwise, you know, the 600's love 64 grams if everything else is right.
Some of our fastest 600's set ups turn 8350 on the top end. Every sled runs a little bit different. Some...
BMP and SSI will be the same pipe mod. Erich used to be at Bikeman and it's all the same.
It does work though. Usually good for a sled length and 100 rpm's on the top end.
You are correct. Primary spring, secondary spring, delrin washer and Team helix/Dalton helix. (depending on year) The 64 gram weights are perfect for this set up and the 600's love them. All the performance is gained through the helix and secondary set up. Also retain the backshift by...
Will help as much as I can, but can't let too much cat out of the bag!!!
Going heavier with weights is the right direction, but softer springs and too heavy of weights will kill your backshift also. There's a happy medium. Every rider is different and there's a "give and take" for clutching...
Was talking about the P2 vs Team with Chris Wolf (Polaris vice president of snowmobiles) He didn't even know that they went away from the P2 back to the Team. I'm guessing that the call was made by somebody below him for cost reasons.
