I am going to run Woody's Triggers 1.63 long 3 per bar in center panels. Going to leave out side unstudded for better turning ability. If I need more studs will add on the outside windows every other one.
This must be the slow forum over on HCS lots of talk of Polaris being faster than 850. I have owned both 850 skidoo and 800 Polaris. The Polaris may be better but faster not usually.
I have a stock 2017 XCR 800 with clutching and geared 1.81 ratio with 144 1.63 triggers in the stock cobra track. I can run with stock renegade 850 all the way up to 95-100. Also ride with a TNT 850 geared and some clutching. He can get me on top end but I can hold my own corner to corner and up...
I am running a 48-44F helix with stock 123-203 and 120-310 primary with BMP magnet weights loaded to almost 72 grams. They are not a very aggressive profile. I have the BMP new weight to try but want to gear the sled down first. The new weights are a 10 series profile with set screws the go in...
My clutching is pretty aggressive now but I can easily add grams with magnet adjustable weights. My sled currently has the 1.68 ratio and I am a heavier rider so I am having trouble getting full shift out now. I am sure lowering the gear ratio to 1.81 or 1.86 and I won't loose any topend really...
I am looking to lower the gear ratio in my 2017 XCR 800. I prefer a 1000ft drag race setup over any type of topend lake race setup. I need the sled to still run 105 mph or so. Some of our riding allows steady trail cruising speeds of 65-75 mph for miles. Just curious who has tested with a ratio...
Has anyone heard any solid rumors for 2018? Hoping maybe the sno cross sleds can inspire Polaris to release a trail version with 129 skid and regular tunnel. I'd love to see a XCR 600 and 800 with 129 skid. Basically a shorter switchback assault. I currently am riding a 2017 Skidoo 129 and...
2016 Polaris Axys Switchback Pro-s 800. Sled was a snow check blacked out model with GPS trail map gauge and electric start. Sled has only 356 miles on it. Just installed 144 new studs in the 1.352 cobra track. 3 years of warranty remain on the snowmobile. Awesome light weight and very fast...
The lower the gear ratio (actually high number like 1.8's vs 1.7's) the more efficient your clutches are the more O.D. you can squeeze. The 1.74 ratio is pretty good for trail riding. Gives you little more low end than stock without any topend sacrifice. In fact that 1.74 gear ratio may be...
I just geared my sled down to 1.86 22/41 and tested yesterday. Sled ran 106 mph on the radar gun at 8200 rpm. I was using same helix you have and same belt. We were testing 660ft drag setup but I had the driver hold it a ways past 660. He held it to around 900ft or so running out of real estate...
I would disassemble the primary and make sure the aftermarket weights are not hitting the spider when trying to shift out. What kind of rpm's is the sled running. Keep adding weight towards the tip of the weights till it won't pull proper rpm. The rest of the clutch parts you have sound like...
Just cause it takes the same chain doesn't mean anything. The ratio is quite different and chain will spin at much quicker rate than the stock combo. So chances are if left along, odometer might say 500 miles and you have only gone 440 miles. Not a huge difference but over time it will add up...
I need to also have the adjustment made after gearing. Has anyone tested the 2016 sleds to see how far off the Speedo is stock. If it reads 5-6 mph high like they usually do, I thought about trying to correct it with the ratio I have the dealer enter in the digital wrench. I ended up with a 1.73...
The sled was a spring order Pro S switchback with a Cobra track. Yes is definitely a 22 top gear which means I only need to buy a 38T bottom gear and will be set with 1.73 ratio.
I have read a lot of post on hear about gearing on Pro S model sleds. I was under the impression that the Pro S model switchback 800 had 23/37 (1.61 ratio). So I wanted to gear the sled down for better performance. After a few hours of tearing the sled apart I was surprised to find the sled had...
