They have protectors built in. Depend on your type of riding and if like to drag race a lot. I would do 168. Do a search for clutching you can gain quite a bit. The pro s are over geared too. Single pipes make quite a difference on your sled.
Those 500efi’s can be problematic. Check the compression in each cylinder. Are the fuel filters original?
There had been quite a few people that converted them over to carbs over the years because they could never solve the issue but there is quite a bit of stuff involved in doing it.
Yes each cylinder has it’s own power valve. I suggest looking on YouTube how to take them out and clean them. I have seen issues as your describing from gummed up power valves.
Hmm those models don’t have very heavy throttle pull but you can try modding the throttle body spring but name sure there is enough tension yet so the throttle doesn’t stick.
Where all the circlips in when you move the wrist pins? I never had one of those motors apart so not sure what kind of pins there is in the bottom end but something had to come apart.
It’s hard to tell by zooming in but that doesn’t look like detonation or melting. It looks like something was in your motor and made its way on top of the pistons. Are all the needles in the wrist pin bearings?
I guess the best would be to search some YouTube videos so you have a better understanding. Another thing it could be if something is broken in your secondary and your belt was sucked down it would act like your trying to take off in 5th gear in a car.
Wow rusted out on a 2012 already that’s crazy. Usually from trailering a lot on open trailers causes them to rust. I would search market place or snowmobile Facebook classified pages.
The drive axle is what turns your track. There is one bearing on each side. One is in the chai case and the other is where it goes through the bulkhead under the secondary clutch. The ones that go out first are the ones usually under the clutch.
When you drove it across the yard the first time was there snow. Usually if your suspension sleds melt to the track the next time you go to love you will burn the belt until the melted sleides pop free also check your drive lacks bearing under the secondary clutch.
