This year I’m running the following
Gearing 23T 40B with 70P chain. Quite a bit more chain dogleg compared to last years setup of 24T 40B with 70P.
Primary spring Team white 120-310. Last year I ran the stock gold 100-275.
Secondary switched to 48-44 helix using stock 123-203 spring.
Still...
Put the stock secondary spring back in 123/203 and kept the 48-42 track on the helix. My other helix track is 48-44.
You were right about the pull. Pulls way harder than 155/222 spring.
Lost hole shot to a studded 15 INDY 800.
2016 Rush Pro-S 800R running my 2017 spring setup left in sled, just because, which is 70 pitch chain with 40B and 24T gears for 1.67 ratio. 155-222 secondary spring team black. Helix 46-42. Stock primary spring, 70gram EPI Belly Buster weights. Balanced...
From experience, they can be a bugger to figure out.
Is it an electric start sled? Batteries can mask bad grounds and suck up the extra voltage. For non-battery sleds, the grounds must all be good for the voltage regulator to work. I've even had to cut lugs off wires, strip wires back to...
Hard to tell from the first photo, but I'm thinking it was machined there because I can see machining marks in the trac.
The cover bushing looks normal to me.
I used shrink tube as well. But I think this method would be even better because the fiber material has better heat insulating properties, thus less heat into the bars.
Put on 90 miles today. 210 total for the year so far. 13F outside and this sled was pulling 8400RPM all day long. Stock original spring and 70 gram weights.
I could pull 72's. Does that seem odd for a stock pipe?
Swapped PTO side motor mounts front to back today. The back one was visibly worn, it's now in front. The front one looked pretty good, now in back. I will have to order new mounts. I think someone over on HCS has ones with stiffer rubber.
Has anyone tried those new motor mounts? Where to get...
40 miles today, shake down run. Need more snow, but ditches were about perfect! December smiles!
2016 Rush Pro-S 800. Took woody shaper bars off skis and put stock bars back on to save shapers. Ran 2017 spring setup left in sled which is 70 pitch chain with 40B and 24T gears for 1.67 ratio...
I cleaned my valves. 1500 miles. VES Gold. Came out sticking. Valves cleaned up with minimal scraping on carbon deposits. However...
At 600 miles I punched a hole in the bulk head cooler, shut the sled down when red high temp came on. No issues with motor, 8200 RPM, 109 MPH, no trouble...
Check for loose nuts and bolts on the spindals. The paint on the painted spindals will crush over time and then all of the fasteners need to be re-tightened.
I was amazed mine got loose after about 1000 miles, but after tightening 600 miles ago mine are still tight.
