2012 800 engine

Yesterday I purchased a 2012 800 RMK Pro. 2900 miles. I have heard that around 3000 mile the pistons need replaced. Mostly what I read is he said accounts. On occasion there seems to be verified problems. So what to do what to do. Apparently there is no way to determine the condition of pistons...
