I bought this sled from a guy at work last winter for $250. It starts and runs great. There are a few cosmetic imperfections, but it was pretty much ready to hit the trails. I ended up replacing the speedometer cable and drive shaft bearings, and when I was down in there also rebuilt the skid with new slides, shocks, limiter strap etc. Last summer I found a good deal and bought an 'Xtra 10' skid.
My question is first, Is this an Xtra 10 skid? With the skid sitting on the bench, when I hold a tape measure to the bench and measure up to the rear mounting position, it sits up exactly 12". Maybe when it is installed things get compressed and it will sit at 10"
My second question is, Can I even put this skid into my 89? I did find a site that gave mounting hole instructions. Even still, I have a 121" track. Is it possible that I will need to get a longer one?
I'd like to figure this stuff out before I go and start taking things apart again.
Thanks for looking.
