Break in

I bought a 2017 switchback recently and wondered what you guys do for proper break in if the sled and belts.

If the dealer prepped it correctly , it should have extra oil in the first tank added and with that said, ride it for about 15 miles (1 hr or so) listening and watching temp and up and down on the throttle to include Wide Open at times. After that check it over and then "Ride it Like You Stole It" and only look back to see if anyone can catch you. And above all, Enjoy your new machine!!

In and out of throttle hard and wfo for no more then 10 seconds.

I add 100:1 for first tank

What about the 600 I picked up for wife?.. Same rings?. Dealer dumped a quart in tank.

I usually mix about 8 oz of oil to every fill up of fuel once its broke in..

Yeah, I mixed a little in my doo rs860 to lube the intake side of the piston. Only have 200 miles on my 800 sba. Still looking for a place to mount a oil caddy.

I run 100:1 ratio about every 3rd or 4th tank too
