Can I get my Carbs Modded?

ok, so i'm building a triple rack set from 4 polaris 600 carbs. one set is from a 600 ves small block, the other from a later model 600 probably 600 ho. the carbs are different because the newer carbs have an air circuit at the bottom of the carb bore with a brass air screw, and the older ones don't have that at all. i'm wondering if i can get my older flatslide mikuni carbs drilled out for that air circuit?
