Engine cutting out at higher Speeds

Hi guys, My friend has a 2018 ProS 600 and is telling me the engine cuts out for a second when he gets up around 80mph. Not even at WOT as far I understand.
Sorry about the vague explanation but I've never experienced it myself but he's complained about it for two years now on and off. He bought it new last year so we thought it was limiting the rpm until broke in or something like that. He's far past that now and it's still is doing it?? Anyone have this issue?

Could be anything, a short, is it over revving and hitting the rev limiter.
