Looking for a bit of help. Just purchased a 2024 Indy XC 650 137. Checking factory shock preloads. Owners manual says 10.8 inces from collar to collar on the front shocks. Problem is if I try to set to 10.8 the spring would be lose with no tension.

Measurement is spot on to the owners manual if I measure from the top of the top coller to the seat of the bottom coller. Spring has preload.

Image attached from manual shows where to measure but this is where I get a loose spring. Doesn't make sense. (Polaris doesn't have a tech line to help, dealer is 3 hrs away)

I'd be willing to bet thats a misprint, the 2 XC models are probably the same and the Adventure is the one with the different spring.
Call the dealer and see if they can look up the preload spec in their online service manuals from the factory, chapter 1 in the manual gives all the specs for each individual model.

Thank you for the suggestion. Dealer confirmed 9.75 inch on front shock preload which differs from the owners manual of 10.8 inces... Minimum preload is 8.5 inches
