Anyone running this kit with a stock motor and oem mapping, possibly someones pipe? Can more air help a non ported motor?

Dave, I just installed these vents on my '16. The final result is that it looks damn near stock! I went this route since I'm running the Jaws pipe. More air = more HP. And these 800 HO's need it. I suppose on a stock exhaust, stock motor machine, it's not that critical and may not be worth the time to install.

More air ok but what about more fuel for that air? Or is oem mapping rich enough?

I believe that the engine can only suck in so much air Dave cause a 2 stroke engine is like an air pump. The SLP intake vents just give it less restriction.

Not argueing, just wondering. Back in the old triple days gutting the airbox often needed bigger mains. Sled injection is not as sophisticated as it needs to be imho. Especially for the cost of these things.

Trust me Dave I'm not arguing with you I'm just posting what I know. But isn't gutting the air box different than adding more vents for air to get to the box?

Your guess is as good as mine. Just comparing the 2. It's only september.:Banghead

Wouldn't cfm difference show up on a dyno pull at full throttle?
It would be interesting to run a before and after Vent kit install to see the difference in flow.

More airflow allowed through an intake does not always equal more hp. More airflow through an engine typically equals more hp. The engine is a compressor, it'll only take the amount of air it can handle. If the air intake/inlet already allows more air in than the engine can handle, then opening up the intake to allow more air in will do nothing.

Dave, when we Dyno.
The hood is removed and just the bottom part of air box connected to throttle bodies is there . Jim connects his air flow to the side just over top of the secondary as we seal it with tons of duct tape to get readings
So, I guess the air box is gutted , lol Sled1
