2014 Polaris Switchback Pro R 800
I have a 2014 SB Pro R 800 I bought last summer. Placed 1000 miles over the last winter and now has just under 5K total miles. When I bought the sled it was serviced every year at dealer and I changed out the fuel filter for it to start the season. After about 200 miles this winter I noticed once I got up to around 80-90 MPH it would feel as if the power cut out and fall on its face for a split second then recover. Seemed after a while the condition got worse so I limped through the rest of the season. I also noticed I got a solid 10 MPH no matter if WOT or took it easy on the throttle. I’m curious to see why everyone’s thoughts are on the cut out. I figured now at 5K I would do a top end change. I also wonder if I should do the bottom end too or wait until the next top end. Love the sled though.

I would do a compression check first..

I bought a new (holdover 2019) 800 Rush last fall, at about 3,000 miles and towards the end of the season it started cutting out mostly at wide open throttle. Acted like you shut the key off so I'm not sure if it's fuel or ignition related. Slowly got worse over about the last month of riding. I talked to the dealer they said they would throw parts at it until it's fixed. I guess that's one way to fix it.
