Anyone having Jackshaft problems? There's a few in my area failing at around the 2000 to 2500 mark. Warrantied but still a pain in the ass, especially when we have a hard time getting parts over here, season done if ya go down. When are they gonna put a damn grease nipple on the bearings? Guess the mechanics gotta make a living too.

The jackshaft isn't the problem, the bearing is. They used some cheap clear looking grease in there and not nearly enough of it. I was warned on another site to check it when I got my sled and the amount of grease in there from the factory was a joke.
Remove the driveshaft cover below the clutch and check that one too ASAP, not much better.
They saved $.05 by not supplying us grease fittings though.

Just grease them. It’s not hard. Pull clutch off. Pull dust cover off bearing being careful not to trash or bend it up. I worked mine out easily with a lil pick. Packed grease in there .carefully installed cover back on and into groove. Yes it should have a fitting but it doesn’t. So don’t just stand by and let it go bad .guys need to be a lil proactive

I wish I would have looked here sooner. I bought a low mileage '16 Switchback Adventure. Figured I was good to go since my last Switchback went 16k and I only lubed that bearing once. Sold it to a friend and it's still running strong. At 3800 miles the bearing on my newer sled trashed itself and due to the bending force on the shaft trashed the chaincase side bearing which then trashed the chain and sprockets. I also wondered about the wisdom of putting the jackshaft through the tunnel where the bearings are subjected to a lot of snow/water/debris. There is only a "deflector" on the clutch side to help protect that bearing. Are all Axis chassis this way, with the jackshaft through the tunnel right above the track? Oh and BTW the new bearing I bought to fix it had white grease in it that was real thin and watery. Didn't like it so I put some good stuff in there.

Thanks guys. Found a place to get covers with nipples but cant get hold of them right now. They are also vented so no over greasing the back seals out.

I don't have any problems yet.But no one can say with certainty that they will not be in the future.I am absolutely ready for any problems that await me.There was a time when I was looking for high-quality tracks for a very long time.I asked my friends and colleagues at work, but all their recommendations were not very good. But my search came to an end when I ordered excellent tracks here.
