O don't recall an RMK from 89, possibly and SKS. But parts should still be available for most common things either from the factory or aftermarket. Can't buy much for $300 so if it runs and moves, you can always part it out for more.
I can offer you no proof as you cannot offer me proof VES is better. I have found that VES does not burn as clean in the engines I have run, I have also found more scuffing on piston skirts using VES. I can set up a lab experiment to show any results desired, as can you. I am not here to start...
Mine is a 2011. I know the 13's and up had thicker cylinder skirts. But the collapse of the piston skirts was alarming. Mine ran very well but I was concerned so I took it apart just to check. I never did a compression test before I took it apart but the rings were flaking as well.
Mine shook and vibrated too, I tore mine down to inspect the pistons at about 1800 miles and luckily caught a cylinder crack on the intake side of a cylinder skirt. I was planning on replacing pistons anyway which had a lot of collapse on the piston skirts. I think this is the main reason the...
Cylinders and clutch arrived back from Indy Specialties this morning, I really like the look of the HG7 finish on the cylinders and the clutch work looks very nice as well. I would highly recommend them for the quality of work.
Well not to start another oil war here, take this as my opinion only, I think Arctic Blue is a better oil package than VES, again only MY opinion, and you can usually buy it for under $20 a gallon in the states. I have run it since the early 90's and it has been run in some race sleds I have...
I have one as well with about 1800 miles, love the sled, took the engine apart this fall to check since I had read about the piston skirt collapse issues. Glad I did, Cylinder bore looked good and measured good but when I sent it to Indy Specialties they found a crack on the intake side cylinder...
