Got me up from 8050 to 8200 RPMs--need 8400. Then I crashed badly. Still thinking the Team Tied and proper spring helix hopefully will get me rest of way there. Clutching id so much art--same weight but your profile got me 150 RPMS, .....Pardon the valium and norco!
Thanks! Do they weigh in at 70-ish? I'm also getting a Team Tied, 64/60 helix and 140/220 spring. I'll have the current 140/200 spring to play with as well. Need me some RPMS!
Same outcome/set up on my X--8050 RPMs with Bikeman/PC V and exactly your clutch set-up. Ran 8300 RPMs stock at 300 miles. Dr Notadoo suggested his modded 66's.
Dr Notadoo: Want to make some and I'll buy them?
Also going to try a Team Tied 64/60 and 140/220 spring.
I did hit 8400 RPMs on a...
Thanks for your reply: SO "shallower" IS 64/60 vs 68/63? I am only pulling just over 8050 RPM on trail groomed snow (but saw 8400 on hard plowed road and 98.5 GPS-- likely with track spin letting it rev higher) with that X which has the Bikeman pipe/PC V and EMPTY Dalton 70-gram...
My mechanic was curious why the stock secondary helix is suggested as a 50/44 and the Tied helix is a 64/60. Trying to learn clutching here--so any help is.....helpful!
This is a Pro X SW 800 with stock gears and 1.75 track/Bikeman pipe/Dynotech loaded PC V, btw.
And finally: Would about...
Kinda sorta similarly, I am running the basic set-up (120-310 primary; 140/200 secondary; 50/44 helix; 70 gram adjustable Daltons--as light as they go), stock belt (I see belt dust--and Sharpie lines completely scuffed off to top of primary) on my new (but broken in) Pro X with stock...
Or I have SLP can...... My "homework" so far is a posted quote by SSI owner that the SSI can produced 3 HP at Dynotech and SSI was pleased it performed as claimed.
OK--So i hade the usual clutch "kit" talked about here assembled with the 120-310 springs 50/44 helix; Dalton adjustable (72 grams? I weight 160 X and such. This was to be for my S. Now I'm thinking I'll put it all on my X--and leave the SLP clutch kit on the S.
Will this same set-up work...
I just got an X and wondered about basic gearing/clutching/set up info differences between this and the S.
The X was revving about 8300 in (at 350 miles) warmish (37 degrees) soft trails (saw 96 MPH--creeping--a bit more maybe) and is of course geared differently (I do run a 1.74 ratio and 1.5"...
Rookie here--SO this is a completely different type/model secondary and then the other numbers are the helix angle and spring respectively? Where are you sourcing the clutch/helix/spring? From Team?
Thanks!
Ummmm--Could the intermittent engine light have something to do with THIS manifesting? I saw a giant crack and I finished tearing the hole open when I tried to unscrew the exhaust sensor this morning. Sled wouldn't start at all today with the crack. I had RIPPED the last few miles home...
