Friend just picked up a used 2014 SB 800, it has the stock Ripsaw II track and we put in around 106-108 studs in it down the middle...that's good enough for him.
Has all stock clutching - and his budget is tight, any recommendations for clutching that would help out to be worth it?
Keep in mind I have the fuel injection line the way it is because the only way I could get at it to tighten was from the top.....any other direction it would it the power valve housing!
I noticed the other day some antifreeze under my 2016 SB, sure enough that coolant line under the PTO side power valve was leaking a bit if you moved the line around. That OEM spring clamp just didn't do its job well. I installed a fuel injection clamp I had around, I'm not a huge fan of the...
How did the BMP pipe due cold? In other words, was it lower on HP until pipe temp went up? Thus in real world conditions one might expect it to not pull as hard or accelerate as quick as compared to the Jaws pipe which had similar HP cold and hot?
Nice work guys. Thanks for sharing!
Great info as always Joey. Thank you!
When do you anticipate you'll get on the Dyno to do a stage build with the new Y-Pipe and start providing the updated Tunes?
If machining your primary for more overdrive, but keeping stock gearing (22/37 on my Pro-S), is there any impact to low end and mid range performance? If I understand correctly, there would not be....?
What do you mean by "Turn to turn the 23/40 is better"? I thought the most efficient gearing combo (if gearing down a SB Pro-S) was the 24/40 gearing over the stock 23/37 gearing?
BMP has the BD Program to run their head with pipe. I believe they will have updated tunes to run with their Y-Pipe as well.
I hear about zero from performance shops on ported cylinder's on the 800 H.O. engine...
With the Cobra track it came with 22/37 gearing. Just had track swapped to a Hacksaw with a 2.52 driver so put back in the 23/37 gearing. Not sure why they'd have different gearing between a Cobra and Ripsaw II?
An easy bolt-on (or easier) if you don't have electric start! You have to loosen up steering post and loosen up electric start motor to get Y-Pipe out....
Do you feel adding more overdrive to the OEM Axys Primary clutch is worth it? Have you observed a performance difference before/after machining in more overdrive? Thx!
