It's all good. I just decided to buy a rental property at a deal I couldn't pass up. Having a new $18,000 sled doesn't make sense for this year....now wish i didn't sell my XF 8000.... now have to shop for a used sled, at peak time prices ..... DOH
Well...I had to make the tough decision to cancel my spring order snow check. So if anyone is looking for one with 4 year warranty in Ontario... Mid City Motorsports in Sudbury has one available. Sled is currently in stock...still shrink wrapped. Details are:
Black pearl/orange
Orange Rails...
I managed to scour through all my polaris friend's tool boxes and came up with some clutch parts that I think I can use. I paid enough for the sled, and the accessories that I am trying to save a few bucks and use readily available clutch parts they had...and are free! lol any input as to what...
My black pearl/orange arrived at dealership today. Likely going to try and wait about 2 weeks to pick it up. Have two sleds in the single car garage already that need finishing up. BUT not sure if I can hold out that long....my daughters Lynx may just get the boot outside to the trailer lol
Its the software that comes with a stalker radar gun. My friend used to have one...it was very helpful when testing. We would simply setup gun on a tripod and run the sled from a stop away from the radar gun.....would typically measure speed/time etc up to about 1500' away from the gun.
Bit the bullet today...my dealer hadn't sold the other pro-s that was coming in with the IDD installed. Managed to talk them down to a $500 difference..... like you said...only a couple more bucks a month lol
I already installed it...so taking a pic isn't an option...but it is basically just a rectangle shaped block. It can't slide backwards out...because it hits cross over tube. It can't slide forward because the channel tightens up a little bit..and the block stops there. It does not completely...
OEM tunnel protectors are super pricey basically just a polaris slider cut to length...however you do get the two small aluminum blocks with a threaded hole in it. This slides into the channel...and then a bolt goes through tunnel protectors and into it to hold them in place. I bit the bullet...
still on the fence as to what I feel like doing....my dealer has another exact same sled as mine with the IDD for $800 more....or I can buy the IDD and instal kit for $1000 separately and then use the stock multi function gauge in my Indy 600. (it currently has a broken analog gauge) I like...
hope not, that was my plan too. I have no false hopes of this being a top end monster...but would really like to hit an honest 105 mph GPS on a hard packed lake. My XF 8000 137" used to run around 107-109 on the GPS
Here's my 2013 Indy 600 ST (Storm Trooper) I found a deal to good for me to pass up a few weeks ago so I bought. Felt too weird not having a sled in the garage to tinker with while I waited for the switchback.
for sure...a 14" wide hacksaw would be ideal for top speed. I have the choice between the rip2 and the cobra....just curious on difference. My XF 8000 with the rip2 would on a normal day on the lake hit about 107-109 GPS.....just curious how close to that my axys will be.
I have the P2 on my 2013 indy 600 that I assume I can swap over the the Pro S. I am totally new to Polaris clutching. But I love to test things out...so I will do a little research and hopefully do some back to back testing of the two different clutches this winter
I ordered a pro s 800 with cobra track. It was going to be my first polaris since my beloved 1998 XC 700 that I was stolen back in 2000. BUT....I on a whim last week I picked up this used Indy 600 for a backup/ take the kids out for a ride sled. So it is now officially my first Polaris sled in...
I also just re-joined the world of Polaris...and new to this forum. Seems like a great place for valuable information. Thanks guys...I am basically starting over with Polaris after being on cats/doo for the last 15 years.
