Dave - the center stud is the only one that penetrates the track. The outside two only screw to the backer at that angle. The plate is slightly curved, and has some spikes that dig into the track when tight. Interesting idea. He has had them one some procross and drag applications for...
Anyone ever try Bigstudz? I know there was some articles in the trade rags at one point, and he has been at some shows in the area. I am touching base with him on he FB page to see how they have been used and work.
IMHO - I would rather see you use the dbl backers on the inside and forgo the outsides completely. Certainly easier on the track when you avoid the outside belts. But they will certainly help your bite no doubt.
