Recoil fails you rope start from the primary clutch. Ring gear grenades you walk, get towed, sled spends 3 weeks at the dealer in the prime of an already sketchy winter, you prep a glass of wiskey and contemplate things. I'll take my chances with the recoil. :)

This looks like the "extra 12" suspension. The shock eye being this close to the track is normal in this case. The track may scrub it occasionally. This is okay and normal for this suspension.
