I would think you are not going to be able to pull rpm with that helix with only a 310 finish on your primary spring? Do you have this setup on hand to try already?
Running 10-66 weights I found mine did with stock secondary. It would not pull rpm up top with 120-310 stock spring. I went with 140 for a bit higher engagement for holeshot and 330 finish to get the rpm up top.
68 are going to be way to heavy for a 600 imo. At 7800-7900 this motor is sluggish I find in my testing. I ran 10-66 with a team 140-330 primary spring with stock secondary setup and seen improvements. If memory serves me right it ran around 8100-8150. I currently have Qap2 loaded to 64g. But I...
I like it so far. Any stock 600 I lined up so far can't beat it in 660'. Seems to pull hard right through. Here is a vid for comparison with a bad start on my part with the assault.
Nothing new to report. Gotta change out secondary spring and re try setup when I get time. Right now I'm running gabes setup with 21-42 gears. I was 2 lengths behind my buddies assault last year with stock clutching. Here is this year.
Covering the simple things here first. Since you said it ran great all along to 8200 and all of a sudden dropped to 7900. Did you happen to change anything in your clutching or have them cleaned this year? I'm thinking possible for the primary spring to be wrong or possibly it's broke on one end...
Had a bit of snow down, so we decided to have a few friendly races. I still have a bit more work to do as far as clutching goes. The Yamaha vipers are strong runners out of the box.
