    The New 850 motor

This was my first year at Haydays, and I was blown away as to how big that event really is! That being said, I was sort of disappointed in the Polaris presentation. It was lackluster compared to the other three. They could have had more sleds on display, and displayed them at least under a...

Thoughts on this new clutch prodcut from Bikeman?

I would think the clutch would need to be rebalanced once this cover is installed. The original cover is indexed and is balanced with the rest of the clutch as a unit.

    Rear Shock Spring removal.

I hear ya. I'm a heavy equipment mechanic at Fort Mc Coy military base. It's amazing what I find left in between and under seats in up armor Humvees and 5 ton LM/MT trucks after the soldiers leave from their 2 week training. Buckets full of spent brass, tactical sunglasses and flashlights, etc.

    Shocks

Just curious why you are replacing the QS3 shocks? I have a '16 Adventure and the QS3's seem to work well for me.

    Pro CC

Yup, I see no reason to pass on a great riding, handling sled on looks. I'm actually digging the look of the ass end of the AXYS chassis. It comes across as a high tech sled.

    2019 Line Up!! Thoughts?

Yep, one COOL looking sled. I'm still trying to wrap my head around an AXYS Indy. For years it was either an AXYS, or an Indy, not both. I think the morphing of the two is one of the smartest moves by Polaris in a long time. This sled is going to be a huge hit and make Poo a lot of money.

    Speedometer Quit Working

As long as the inner race of the bearing didn't spin on the driveshaft, you'll be fine. Time to pull the driveshaft out and press off the old bearing and press a new one on. You could hammer the old one off, but use a press to install the new one. The last thing you want to do is tweak the new...

    Speedometer Quit Working

You're probably going to find a bad bearing and a sheared off cable from the 90 degree gearbox to the end of the driveshaft. What happens is when the bearing goes bad, the driveshaft isn't lined up anymore with the gearbox. That shears off the key. A very common problem on older speedometer...

    Little help here

I agree with k5blazer72. An engine can be started without the clutch and not do damage. You can't rev it to redline, a little common sense goes a long ways here. You just want to fire it up to see if the noise goes away.

How Vulnerable is a 02 800 XC to Overheating

First off, welcome to Polaris Star Power. You will find lots of good information here. I hate to be the one to tell you this, but if the hyfax melted to the track, it overheated due to lack of snow which is what lubricates the track clips andhyfax. The snow also cools the heat exchangers...

    Reeds

Yup, they have the 3R's from the factory. They are supposed to last the life of the sled.

    Assault 800 Gearing

Yes it is. Grab a calculator and punch it the second number (41) divided by the first number (22) and you get the ratio (1.86).

    Hand and thumb warmers?

I would do a voltage check at the thumb warmer and hand grip plugs with the sled running to make sure you're getting the proper voltage. It should be around 14 volts above idle. Remember to set your meter to a/c volts.

    Under hood goggle bag

Thanks for the reply. What is the part # of the goggle bag. I've looked on the Poo accessory page and haven't found it yet.

    Under hood goggle bag

After the bag installation, do you need to pull the hood off to gain access to either one of the zippered compartments of the bag?

96 indy 500 trail no spark

Simple. Disconnect the ignition switch connector and the wires going to the kill switch. This system grounds the wire out of the module with the kill switch down or the key off. Unplugging them allows the wire to unground. I wish I could tell you the wire color or schematic to help you out. Try...
