Number 10 rod goes from the oil pump up to the throttle body which has a set screw & nut that you have to adjust. I dont think pic came out right but you can see the rod on the breakdown on Babbits sight. Locate the pic of oil pump which you will see the rod & follow it from oil pump to throttle...
I cannot agree with that. Like the early 800's like 2010 were horrible. No excuse for loose pistons that broke skirts off at low miles , they slowly got better but even my 2013 snapped a rod in half & trashed the entire motor at 3200 miles at $4200 & out of warranty. Bought it used with 300...
[QUOTE="Mudgunner, post: 16963, member: 2591" Hi i am having the same issue on my 2013 switchback 800 recently. At around every 60 miles or so it fouls out the left side. . I have switched from left to right the coils, fuel injectors , checked spark strength with a gap tester with it almost all...
Yes it does suck & the dealers never said anything to anybody. You should probably pull the injectors & clean them but your problem is more than likely the lack of oil. Found all this out when my buddy's 2010 rush 600 lost a cylinder at 4200 miles. He kept telling me that ( This thing is great...
They were junk. Bad detonation & piston clearance was too much & broke skirts. Can have Indy specialties rework the motor but guys are saying that the first thing to do is get a power commander due to the detonation. The 600 were great, 800 bad until around 2013. I had an 09 600 dragon & was one...
Sorry for the delayed reply but I just joined the group & read your post. . In 2010 due to EPA Polaris turned all of there oil pumps down to be in compliance with EPA due to they made very little 4 strokes so there average had to be lower on the 2strokes. As you can read or see videos on the...
I have a 2013 pro r switchback 800. Has an Indy Specialties long rod engine. Started this season it seamed fine but part way through it started fouling the left plug. With new plug it will run great for about 60 miles or so then starts to foul out. It will clear up if I punch it a few times but...
The fuel gauge/ sending unit, not sure which one is the culprit , I never even look at it anymore. The only fix I know is hit a gas station whenever you are getting to the 100 mile range. It's a shame for what you pay for these that an old float on the tank cap works better.
Stay away from it if you have not already bought it. Engines are bad. Nothing but problems. Detonation , breaking piston skirts, ect. Just joined the sight & just seen your question. I had an 09 dragon 600 & it was fantastic. One of my all time favorites. Too bad the 800's were junk. Indy...
