Does a studded track provide enough "snow" to lubricate track slides on bare ice?

Thanks for the info. I guess I won't have to worry about it for a while... we got 11" of snow last night.

Does a studded track provide enough "snow" to lubricate track slides on bare ice?

I realize it needs snow or ice chips, that's why in my subject line, I asked if the studded track will provide enough "snow" to lubricate the Hyfax... do the studs throw up enough stuff?

Service manual for 2006 Edge series?

I'd be happy to share it but I think it's too large (13+ MB) to upload? PM me if there's an easy way for me to share it.

Photo of hood duct cut for the 550fan cold air duct kit?

There was an add-on kit to insure the early Edge series 550 fan-cooled models drew in cold air vs. the hot air from right next to the muffler. The kit involved bolting on a duct over the recoil side fan intake that had to be matched with a hole cut in the hood. I was just given a 2006 550...

Rod ends on top of steering arm?

Just noticing on the 2006 550 Classic I was given that the steering rod ends are mounted on the top of the steering arms. Other Edge front suspensions I've seen have them mounted to the bottom side of the arms. Does it matter? I know the sled was repaired by a dealer. I'm guessing changing...

    Gates G-Force belt for 2006 550 Classic

Gates also responded to my question to them with saying the 48G4553 is a correct fit, but Dennis Kirk is recommending the 44G4553. The tech guy at Gates says the difference is the belt's side angle... 26˚ v. 28˚. I think I'll send back the 44G4553 and exchange it for the 48G4553.

    Gates G-Force belt for 2006 550 Classic

I just received a new belt from Dennis Kirk. Their website shows the Gates G-Force 44G4553 as the exact fit for the '06 550 Classic. I just noticed that the Gates website says the 48G4553 is the correct belt. Is Dennis Kirk recommending the wrong belt? Anyone using the 44G4553?
