2012 Polaris shift IQ 600 problem

I have a new to me 600 shift iq. While riding today the sled’s digital display went out and the machine killed. It will restart and run for a few minutes but then the same thing happens. Anyone know what could be the problem?

First thing I would do is hunt down a service manual, sounds like you are going to need it.
First thing I would look at on the sled is there is a capacitor piggyback mounted to the top of the voltage regulator. I would start by checking that, unfortunately the procedure from Polaris is pretty vague.
Below is from the Pro-ride manual but they should be similar.
