2015, and 2016 Indy 600 running 160-185 degrees

That is way too hot. if the temps climb more than 130-140, I look for snow to dive into.
Are you studded with protectors?

Yep studded, wife's sled I had her diving into the side snow. These sled run hotter faster then my AXYS 800's.
I drilled holes in the tunnel protectors.

Did you try flushing the system??
Maybe it needs it?
Pull the t stat ?

Heads not leaking combustion gases into coolant I hope ??

I haven't gotton too nuts on it, as it's a new left over, with less then 1000 miles on it, AND I remember her 2015 did the same shit, so I'm thinkin it's an inherent problem with the Indys?

If you are driving on real hard packed snow, the INDY chassis gets hot.
They are not as bad as the IQ Chassis but still get hot easy.
Scratchers will fix it!

Get the trail blizzer scratchers from quali- pieces . They work awesome.
Also, a better snow flap helps

Scratchers are a must on the Indys. The colder the tighter the snow. Thats when you need scratchers. Don t really want to see anything more then 165. I have seen as high as 189 but thats when you will squeek it or pop a head o ring. With scratchers it will never go higher then 150 unless you are running on corn ice snow. Then nothing works.
