any heads that you can tell made a few horsepower from around 0-3000 ft?

Looking to put a head on my 16 axys 800. Ride 0-3000 feet have ssi pipe mod on. Looking for a bit extra horsepower.
Years past never seemed a head helped, just a shiney expensive head.

I agree with you .

The axys 800 stock head is 0.053” squish and has a cut to avoid det.

Most are just top hat/hemi style that won’t gain much over stock.

Lower temp t stat head/ head cover would seem more beneficial. Polaris now has that too. But, it’s expensive.

I agree a head is a waste of money unless it has a lower operating t-stat..

Would a tighter squish , and something like 13.5:1 ish give more power? It would need more octain for sure.

What about y pipes? Any brand specific been tested against others and saw gains? I just have stock y pipe and again with ssi pipe mod

Yes it would make more power at 13.5 .. and the tighter squish would most likely require a shorter distance to run in. Not ideal for trail and better fuel is s must
