Connect Battery backwards for a few hours

2019 Polaris 550 northstar
Have a 2011 IQ550 battery was connected backwards for a few hours , now battery has a large draw when negative connected to battery and circuit breaker cycles open and closed . disconnected starter , and front lights and ignition switch still happens . disconnected voltage regulator, it does not happen . Is Regulator bad or what could be wrong
 
Is it ok to start sled with regulator disconnected, short time low RPM ?
 
Yes, stay under 3000 rpm and it should be ok. One of my buddies did this accidentally on a Sportsman quad and it smoked the regulator, not sure what it would do to a sled.
