I know the actual travel is the same for all Polaris clutches but i was under the impression that EPI/SLP specified the finish force at a different (1.25") distance (height) for their springs...The polaris spring travel stays the same no matter whose springs you use. I think that you may be confusing Cats finish posted by SLP/EPI
you are right as I just went and looked at both SLP and EPI sites and they doo show 2.5 and 1.25. I always thought they said it would be more for polaris travel. Can't find that. Same for Goodwins. Sorry about that.I know the actual travel is the same for all Polaris clutches but i was under the impression that EPI/SLP specified the finish force at a different (1.25") distance (height) for their springs...
Polaris clutches are all a little different in the 1.19" load they specify. Some are a little less, some are a little more. Now when you index to get belt to sheave, that changes it too. Machining does too. I personally like to get my Polaris primary finish load at 1.25".No worries Dave, it's all kinda vague inside my head but sometimes it comes out right. LOL
Also, it only changes the rate calculation which a lot of people don't even think about...
