?? Dalton QAP weight vs 10 weights ??

AFM, do you know what the 6 different sized set screws each weighed?

Here is the weight of a CPC set screw and length, I think there is one shorter set screw

IF AFM chimes in with the helix he was using that shifted to fast with the daltons, that he had to slow up the shift by adding spring tension. My guess will be the rear secondary start angle was a bit much. So using full helixes with a slightly shallower start loading the base in the primary will work. Its no different then the clutch set-up I'm using right now with my modded weights and full progressive helix..

One thing to always remember!

The primary weights and secondary cams control everything

The springs are just for fine tuning

I have the weights right here for you Dave.
1/4 inch=.7 grams
3/8 inch=1.3 grams
1/2 inch=1.9 grams
5/8 inch =2.5 grams
3/4 inch=3.1 grams
1 inch=4.3 grams
In the instructions Dalton recommends not using the 1 inch screw as the FIRST one in to the base weight OR use the 1 inch by itself bottomed out. Minor distortion during the heat treatment process can make the threads in the base weight very sensitive to binding and this 1 inch long one could jam in the threads making it NON-removable if all of the way to the tip. When using these weights in previous sleds that I've owned Ive used really soft primary springs like the 110-290 with lots of weight at the heel with great success as the belt is really pinched harder in the inefficient part of the primary giving me way better hole shot and midrange. I'll be trying my QAP-3 weights with a P2 secondary as I made huge gains with my 2011 Rush.

What I would do if I was you Dave is put 3/8 at the tip and 1/2 at the heel and try.
Of course alignment, offset and stuff too
Use stock cam with a 140/220 and try it

You need heel weight but don't wanna suck belt down in secondary either(so a 140 start should help )

Dr., I definitely agree you could end up with similar performance running different setups. I've had race setups that ran similar ET's with different setups. (One FP and one dual angle) The Dalton's are a good weight but if you really want to play around with weight placements have you tried a weight like the STM supertips? I believe the profile on the weights is very similar to the Polaris 10 series weights. (Most of the sets I have I believe were prototypes)

yes I have a set, its just easier not to mess with the middle of the weight.work on the base and tip ,leave the middle alone for friendly trail manners
